Graduate Student, Department of Anthropology
I am an archaeology graduate student working in Central California. I am interested in how Indigenous people managed the landscapebefore contact with Europeans. A component of this interest is using localized, paleoethnobotanical information on the plants Indigenous people used in the past as a way of informing present ecological policies on restoring, managing, and interpreting these areas in the present. I am especially interested in engaged scholarship which collaborates with Indigenous peoples in order to make research something that benefits present day communities.
